Interview: Haywire Star Gina Carano!

JoBloJoBlo

The moment I walked in to interview ex-mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano, the conversation quickly turned to peanut butter. It was a strange yet fun way to meet somebody like Gina. She is beautiful, funny, and she can kick your ass in an instant. And so she does in Steven Soderbergh’s latest action drama HAYWIRE.

In the film, Gina plays Mallory Kane, a tough black ops super soldier that is on the run. She has to take on a number of Hollywood’s elite leading men including Ewan McGregor, Antonio Banderas, Michael Fassbender and Channing Tatum. And she does so with style, grace and a raw fierceness. You really don’t want to mess with Mallory Kane.

Yet even though Carano is one of the most popular MMA fighters, she is an absolute delight to talk to. Here’s to hoping that we see more of Gina in the future… Angelina Jolie better watch out because Ms. Carano’s the real deal when it comes to a modern day action star.

HAYWIRE opens this Friday at a theatre near you.
