Interview: Gloria Reuben Talks Firestarter

There are actors that always stand out in some way. Gloria Reuben is one of them. The actress started her career in the late 80’s, and she has continued to work ever since. Her resume includes Nick of Time, Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, as well as a massive amount of television work. And now, she is taking on the role that originated with Martin Sheen in 1984’s Firestarter. As Captain Hollister, Reuben brings a different sort of feel to the morally questionable character. And this time, her co-stars include Zac Efron and Ryan Kiera Armstrong.

We recently had the pleasure of speaking with this amazing talent about her latest. She opened up about playing a familiar role, and how she approached playing such a devious person. When it came to working with director Keith Thomas, she had especially kind things to say. And yes, she opened up about being a bit frightened by Thomas first feature, The Vigil. It was a terrific talking to everyone involved with the film, and if you are interested in seeing what they all have in store, you can check out Firestarter in theatres, or streaming on Peacock currently.
