NOTE: This interview was accomplished prior to the start of the SAG strike.

Maggie Q burst onto the scene with 2006’s Mission Impossible III and quickly established herself as an action star. Over the years she’s dipped her toes into various franchises (Die Hard, Divergent) but has mostly found herself in smaller fare. Fear the Night (Check out Cody Hamman’s review HERE) is proof of how that can be a positive as Maggie is captivating in every frame of the film as she’s allowed to do a little more than just stuntwork. So I was extremely excited to be able to discuss the film with Maggie and see just how much she collaborated with writer/director Neil Labute in creating the character of Tes. While Fear the Night is a bit on the generic side, Maggie’s performance elevates it and makes it worth a watch. Check out my wonderful conversation with the actress above.

Fear the Night plot: Follows Iraqi war veteran Tes, as she prepares to strike back after a group of home invaders attack during her sister’s bachelorette party, and she discovers that they are hellbent on not leaving any witnesses behind.

FEAR THE NIGHT is IN THEATERS, ON DIGITAL, and ON DEMAND JULY 21ST, 2023.
