Dammit Hollywood…I’m giving up now. Every international sensation that comes our way does not have to be remade. Millions of dollars do not have to be spent for the sake of a few subtitles. People will not end their lives if a foreign flick isn’t Americanized a year after it’s release. We’ve seen it happen to [REC] (2007) when it was remade into QUARANTINE (2008) and we’ve seen it happen to LET THE RIGHT ONE IN (2004) but that was remade six years later so it’s not so bad. Add THE TROLL HUNTER to your line-up because it’s on its way here.
The LA Times reports: After a successful run at Fantastic Fest, the movie is set to come out in the U.S. next year. Universal owns remake rights, so don’t be surprised if that happens too.
Knowing how much of a power house Universal is there’s going to be lots of talk of how to “speed” up the process in churning out another remake. My question is how are we going to incorporate trolls into US culture? Didn’t we bury those kinds of memories in a big hole somewhere in the desert?
