Is Overture shopping Let Me In around? Who’s releasing the thing?!

One flick that seems to be turning some heads at Comic-Con this week is Matt Reeves’ LET ME IN. The project has been on a media overload in the past few weeks with new posters, a trailer and all kinds of goods. But alas I’m not here to talk to you about LET ME IN goods. Unfortunately I’m here to talk about some distribution musical chairs going on with LET ME IN!

Apparently Overture, the distributors for LET ME IN, are having a bit of financial trouble so they’re looking for a little help from wherever they can get it. Check out the details from IndieWire:

While Overture execs insist that they are releasing the movie as planned on October 1, other distribs report that they are shopping the movie to another distrib partner because they are short on P & A dollars.

Well that’s a bummer! But worry not! Someone has come to the rescue! According to Bloody-Disgusting it seems Relativity has swooped in and will star in the role of knight in shining armor. So exciting.

LET ME IN follows Abby, a secretive 12-year old girl, who moves next door to Owen. Owen is a social outcast who is viciously bullied at school and in his loneliness, forms a profound bond with his new neighbor. Owen can’t help noticing that Abby is like no one he has ever met before. As a string of grisly murders occupy the town, Owen has to confront the reality that this seemingly innocent girl is really a savage vampire.

Let Me In, a haunting and provocative thriller written and directed by filmmaker Matt Reeves (Cloverfield) and produced by legendary British horror brand Hammer Films, is an astonishing coming-of-age story between a young girl and an alienated young boy unlike any other you have seen. Based on the best-selling Swedish novel Lat den Ratte Komma (Let The Right One In) by John Ajvide Lindqvist, and the highly-acclaimed film of the same name, Let Me In takes audiences straight to the troubled heart of adolescent longing and loneliness.

The flick sports a solid cast that includes Chloe Moretz, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Richard Jenkins, Elias Koteas, Cara Buono, Sasha Barrese (below), Chris Browning, Seth Adkins and Dylan Minnette. This shite goes down everywhere October 1st!
