He created iconic movie posters for NATIONAL LAMPOON’S VACATION, BARBARELLA, DEATHSTALKER and EMPIRE STRIKES BACK but legendary painter Boris Vallejo hasn’t done any movie work since 2007’s AQUA TEEN HUNGER FORCE. But this weekend, Magnet Releasing quietly sent out the latest trailer for Quentin Dupieux’s RUBBER, which featured the latest work by Mr. Vallejo (with partner Julie Bell).

In the era of minimalist posters, it’s nice to see a maximalist poster. It’s a great piece of art and it matches the movie beautifully. We don’t get a lot of opportunities to see hand-drawn posters these days, so enjoy this because I’m sure it’ll be a long time before we see another one. (I would’ve loved to have seen a Frank Frazetta poster for YOUR HIGHNESS…)
