There might be ten days left until IT: CHAPTER TWO floats into theaters, but that hasn't stopped director Andy Muschietti's follow-up to his 2017 remake of Stephen King's horror classic from making a klling during the upcoming film's pre-sale period. According to a representative over at Atom Tickets, IT: CHAPTER TWO is shattering records ahead of its theatrical release, and now holds the best pre-sales for a horror movie of all-time.

To put things in perspective, IT: CHAPTER TWO has already sold 3X the amount of tickets Adam Gordon Green's HALLOWEEN sold in the same time frame. As you'll likely recall, HALLOWEEN was the previous record holder, though now it would appear that Pennywise has bested Michael Meyers in scaring up pre-sale dollars ahead of hunting season.

The Top Pre-Selling Horror Movies at Atom Tickets are as follows:

1. IT: CHAPTER TWO

2. HALLOWEEN (2018)

3. US

4. ANNABELLE COMES HOME

In commenting about IT: CHAPTER TWO's success over at Atom, Alisha Grauso, Editorial Lead for Atom Tickets, remarked “IT is one of the rare horror stories that appeals to everyone because of how it taps into childhood fears and adult nostalgia. The first movie was a global hit and audiences are wildly curious to see how the story ends. It's the sort of cultural phenomenon that creates huge buzz and anticipation heading into a sequel's release. Because of that, IT Chapter Two has become the rare ‘event movie,’ a must-see film that is akin to audiences rushing to see Marvel or Star Wars. They just want to know how the story evolves for these characters they love.”

Here's the official synopsis for IT: CHAPTER TWO:

Twenty-seven years after the horrific events of the summer of 1989, It (Bill Skarsgård) returns. The Losers' Club fulfills their promises and returns to Derry to put an end to the shape-shifting beast once and for all.

The sequel and final chapter of Muschietti’s Stephen King adaptation stars Bill Skarsgård as Pennywise the Dancing Clown as well as the adult Losers Club cast, of which includes James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone, and Andy Bean. Reprising their roles as the Losers Club kids are Jaeden Lieberher, Wyatt Oleff, Sophia Lillis, Finn Wolfhard, Jeremy Ray Taylor, Chosen Jacobs, and Jack Dylan Grazer.

Muschietti will of course direct from a script penned by Gary Dauberman based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King. Barbara Muschietti, Dan Lin, and Roy Lee will produce while Marty Ewing, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg arrive as executive producers.

IT: CHAPTER TWO will float into theaters on September 6.
