It’s a remake!

To add to my buddy Ammon’s disgust for remakes (I’m like that sometimes), the B-D dudes late last night snagged news that Larry Cohen is set to remake his 1974 flick IT’S ALIVE, targeted for 2009. No word on if the rumoured sequel is still in the works, or if the sequel has turned into a remake, but nonetheless, Cohen says that the baby will be CG this time (no midgets/puppets this time around), but will be kept in the shadows.

What has prompted Cohen do remake? Well, considering that he originally purchased the rights for the film from Warner Bros. last year, and the fact that the film snagged more than $7 million in rentals alone may be indication for the reasoning. Still, since many folks consider the original’s trailer to be scarier than the actual film, perhaps Cohen should just remake the trailer?
