There are definately a few movies out there that really freaked the shite outta me when I was a kid. One was the classic NIGHT OF THE CREEPS, as those slugs slithering around was just…you know, creepy. Another was Larry Cohen’s IT’S ALIVE. Any baby that looked like that and did those things… yuck! Of course, I was just a kid- now it’s somewhat laughable, but then… dang it freaked me out!
So why am I telling you this and why should you care? The cable network devoted strictly to horror in all of it’s High Definition glory, Monsters HD, is having an IT’S ALIVE movie marathon on Mother’s Day, May 14th!
The marathon will feature all 3 of the films, including IT’S ALIVE, IT LIVES AGAIN and IT’S ALIVE III: ISLAND OF THE ALIVE, and they will all be presenting in the latest and greatest high definition film transfer, so every sick and twisted act of killer baby action is seen with the upmost clarity. Gotta love it.
I’ve never checked out the sequels, but did learn through the press release of this marathan that Larry Cohen is in the works right now on bringing another entry of the IT’S ALIVE series to the big screen soon! Apparently Cohen is returning as writer and director of PART 4, which will undoubtedly have a sweet title, and an even sweeter tagline. So prepare for the next sequel and show your mom how much you love her by watching the IT’S ALIVE trilogy on Monsters HD May 14th, starting at 8:30pm.
