It’s Dinner time!

We got word today about a new horror
flick coming out of Italy, and even though it’s claim to be better than

HOSTEL
,

SAW
, THE
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE
, or Ruggero Deodato’s

CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST
probably won’t stand, I’m guessing that
it’ll still rock pretty hard.

The film’s called
The Dinner,
and it tells the story of five friends, Bea, Sara,
Fabrizio, Lory and Pietro travelling together on a summer holiday trip, in
search of a little vacation. But they’ll only find a climax of horror: lost in a
creepy and – apparently – desolate house, they’ll experience every sort of pain,
descending into a spiral of secrets held by the morbid family who lives there.

Oh and as an added bonus the film’s inspired by true
stories
.

Italian horror films really are
pretty cool, and have carved out a nice niche for themselves, much like how the
Japanese horror films have been able to do.

While we don’t have a trailer yet,
the poster is looking pretty cool and reminds me of some of the

SAW
posters that have been used. We don’t have a release date yet,
but we do have word that the film will contain a
shocking scene of cannibalism lasting more than 10 minutes
which
is good enough to keep me interested. Make sure to check back here periodically
for more info on when the film will be hitting local shores.
