It’s man vs beast in the IMAX trailer for The Legend of Tarzan

It's been some time since we've seen Tarzan on the big screen, and this time around, Alexander Skarsgard will be playing the man raised by apes. THE LEGEND OF TARZAN picks up when Tarzan, having already acclimated to life in London, is called back to his former home in the jungle to investigate the activities at a mining encampment. As you can imagine, it probably doesn't look good for his jungle friends so he drops some clothing and gets to swinging! You can check out some of the action with the IMAX trailer below!

I think David Yates did a pretty amazing job with the last 4 Harry Potter flicks, but there's probably a reason we haven't see much on LEGEND until now. Even from an aesthetic standpoint, the color palette looks pretty muted and the CG animals poor, especially considering what animators are capable of with films like DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES. I wouldn't wage money on this one turning out well, but I'd love to be proven wrong!

THE LEGEND OF TARZAN hits theaters on July 1, 2016.
