I know you are probably all just as excited as I am for Nicolas Winding Refn’s DRIVE, which opens on September 16th.
Have no fear folks, I have an awesome little treat to help rev you up today. A brand spanking new international trailer has surfaced (it has French subtitles and it is slightly NSFW), and I have it right here for you to scope out.
Just a fair warning, the trailer does include a few new scenes and it does reveal some plot details. Another pretty cool aspect is that the trailer features the film’s theme tune; Nightcall by Kavinsky. So we’ve got what looks to be a pretty kick-ass film, and a pretty kick-ass soundtrack, I can’t wait to see this one.
Ryan Gosling stars as a Los Angeles wheelman for hire, stunt driving for movie productions by day and steering getaway vehicles for armed heists by night. Though a loner by nature, Driver can’t help falling in love with his beautiful neighbor Irene, a vulnerable young mother dragged into a dangerous underworld by the return of her ex-convict husband Standard.
After a heist intended to pay off Standard’s protection money spins unpredictably out of control, Driver finds himself driving defense for the girl he loves, tailgated by a syndicate of deadly serious criminals. But when he realizes that the gangsters are after more than the bag of cash in his trunk-that they’re coming straight for Irene and her son-Driver is forced to shift gears and go on offense.
DRIVE sports a stellar cast including Ryan Gosling, Carey Mulligan, Bryan Cranston, Christina Hendricks (below), Ron Perlman, Oscar Isaac and Albert Brooks.
