New word about the future of the GHOSTBUSTERS franchise has arrived from a rather unexpected place… Although the 2016 reboot underperformed in the box office, it certainly wasn't as big a flop as it was made out to be. And according to producer Ivan Reitman, there might just be juice left in the property.
In an interview regarding, of all things, SPACE JAM with YouTube creator Mr. Wavvy, Ivan Reitman had this to say about GHOSTBUSTERS:
There’s going to be many other Ghostbusters movies, they’re just in development right now.

It's not a lot to go on, but if anybody knows what's going on it's Reitman. It's unclear if these new projects will be in the continuity of Paul Feig's all-female reboot, but the franchise isn't dead. It just got knocked down a bit.
