Star Wars Rebels

The last time we heard Darth Vader speak was nine years ago believe it or not; voiced of course by the legendary James Earl Jones. Thankfully one of the most recognizable voices in film history will now be heard again thanks to the TV movie Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion. Star Wars Rebels premiered this week on the Disney Channel with a 44-minute special episode which is now headed to ABC for an additional second showing.

Jones and Darth Vader are returning for an appearance in a special scene added for the network movie on ABC. While it premiered on Disney Channel and Disney XD, executive producer Dave Filoni explained in a press release issued by Disney why it’s being added.

“We wanted to do something special for the ABC broadcast, we’ve added a scene which gives audiences insight into the Inquisitor and includes a cameo by Darth Vader voiced by the distinguished actor James Earl Jones.”

As you know, Star Wars Rebels takes place between the events of Episode III and Episode IV, so it’s safe to assume Vader will be on the lookout for the remaining Jedi. Star Wars Rebels: Spark of Rebellion airs on ABC Sunday October 26, 2014.
