The Disaster Artist, a film about the making of The Room, reveals new photo

Last Updated on July 31, 2021

I am cautiously optimistic about James Franco's THE DISASTER ARTIST. You see, it's been well-documented that I love me some bad movies, and THE ROOM is no exception. It's bonkers, wrong-headed, and unlike anything you'll ever see (it's worth it just for the random, out-of-nowhere drug-dealing scene alone). So I can't wait to see a film that delves into the troubled production, especially since Greg Sestero (who was a line producer and played Mark in THE ROOM) wrote the book the film is based on, and it's fascinating. However, James Franco as director is a big wild card. I don't think he's directed a film I've liked yet, but I do admire his work ethic and ambition (I mean, attempting to adapt AS I LAY DYING is certainly ballsy). Let's just hope those two traits can be used to make something worthwhile this time.

Anyway, here's an official photo from the film, showing James and Dave Franco as Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero, respectively. Let's take a look:

They certainly look the part. Let's hope the rest of the film is up to snuff.

Either way, THE DISASTER ARTIST is set to have its world premiere at the SXSW film festival next month. And the wait is tearing me apart!

So, Schmoes, what's your favorite moment from THE ROOM? Sound off below!
