James Wan set to tackle the true story of ghost hunters Ed & Lorraine Warren

It seems the talented James Wan has been inching closer and closer into producer territory lately rather than director. Now that’s fine with me, as long as Wan takes some time every once and a while to bring us a kick-ass flick himself. Hopefully the project I’m about to tell you about ends up being one of those films!

You see the filmmaker let loose his plans for his next project over at his Twitter page recently via the following ‘tweets:’

“I watch/read a lot of scary stories. But fuck, THE DEMONOLOGIST, true life account of Ed & Lorraine Warren, is the scariest book I’ve read.

“@scottderrickson: @creepypuppet Who owns THE DEMONOLOGIST anyway?” NewLine/WarnerBros has the life rights to Ed and Lorraine Warren.

“@STYDNews: @scottderrickson @creepypuppet Nevermind, wrong project, thinking of Demonologists…” it’s about the same people/characters.

“@scottderrickson: Bummer. After THE RITE they wont do anything with it” um, actually they are. The lifestory of the Warrens is my next film”

So there you have it folks! It seems Wan is next tackling a project based on the true story of famed ghost hunters Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Warrens claim to fame was the legendary Amityville Hauntings, which was just one of over a reported 10,000 cases the husband and wife duo worked on. T.A.P.S. eat your heart out.

Now what you see is basically all the info we have on the currently untitled project but you can bet as soon as we hear more on this one we’ll pass that shite right along to all of you.
