Yup, that’s what happens when makers of THE HOST and OLDBOY come together…they attract top flight acting talent!

Variety has it that Jamie Bell (right) and Oscar winner Tilda Swinton (below) are in negotiations to star alongside Chris Evans in SNOW PIERCER, the frigid futuristic thriller from South Korean director Bong Joon-ho (co-produced by Chan-wook Park). Specifics on their potential parts weren’t given, but suffice it to say they’ll be playing one of the train-travelers who must find a way to civilly coexist. Longtime Joon-ho pal Song Kang-ho will also star.

Written by Joon-ho as well:

Earth is completely frozen over as a new ice age hits…The world is covered in snow and ice. The only living people, the last survivors, are onboard a leviathan train speeding along the rail tracks endlessly. But they are fighting each other…

For survival, for dominance, they are locked into a gruesome fight to the death along a linear path inside the train. From the tail end carriage reminiscent of Auschwitz, to the gold class carriages at the front, full of decadent pleasures, our protagonists must penetrate deep into the dark secrets that shroud the train…

Swinton, coming off a Golden Globe nod for her work in WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT KEVIN, can next be seen in Wes Anderson’s MOONRISE KINGDOM. Bell had four movies out last year, with MAN ON LEDGE and FILTH coming in 2012.
