While promoting WHITE HOUSE DOWN, actors Jamie Foxx and Channing Tatum were posed with the question of superheroes, to which they gave some interesting answers. For Foxx, the question was about the possibility of seeing The Sinister Six in THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN franchise (it’s got to be a forgone conclusion by now), to which he replied with a wink:

“Yes, they actually talked about it, the Sinister Six. So, fingers crossed, because when you think about it, electricity never dies, it just goes to a different place [wink].”

Tatum was asked if he’d like to get in on the superhero action, to which he responded with an affirmative, going on to say that he’d like to take on the role of Gambit, previously played by Taylor Kitsch in X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE. Tatum, who is from Louisiana, says he would like to use a “real” cajun accent and gives props to Kitsch at the same time. I thought Kitsch was fine as Gambit, but they certainly didn’t give him enough time in ORIGINS to really establish himself. I know Gambit is a fan favorite, but I’m not quite sure he’s ready for a solo film.

Do you think Tatum would make a good Gambit or should he stick to stripping acting in other films?

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 opens on May 2, 2014.
