Jane out as Hex

It’s no secret that most of the guys around here have a rather unhealthy love affair going with Thomas Jane (I think he’s a cool dude, but I don’t swing that way, unlike some *coughAmmoncough*). Indeed, when the rumors began that The Jane might be taking on the role of outlaw Jonah Hex, my pal Jared nearly bust a nut in excitement.

I’ve got bad news for him and the rest of you that were getting psyched for this possibility. JONAH HEX directors Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine revealed on The Movie Blog that they’ve got their sights set on someone else.

“He’s a great guy,” said Brian Taylor, referring to Jane. “But we… don’t see the guy as Jonah Hex, to be quite honest with you. But we like him.”

As for who might step into Hex’s boots, the duo only offered a tantalizing: “We have some options.”

This must be hardest on Jane who, as evidenced above, has been lobbying hard for the Hex role… Ah well, the man can rest easy knowing he’ll continue to receive curly locks of hair along with love letters covered in mysterious stains…
