Jason Momoa, Sweet Girl, Netflix

My man! While in the midst of filming SEE for Apple TV+, it's been announced that AQUAMAN star Jason Momoa will star and produce SWEET GIRL, a revenge thriller for Netflix. Making his directorial debut on the Momoa-led feature is Brian Andrew Mendoza, who will direct from a script penned by Gregg Hurwitz and Philip Eisner , with revisions being handled by Will Staples.

The project finds Momoa playing a husband who vows to bring justice to the people responsible for his wife’s death while also protecting his daughter. As it happens, Mendoza and Momoa have worked together before while filming director Lin Oeding's BRAVEN, as well as on the Netflix and Discovery Canada TV series FRONTIER. Producing alongside Momoa on SWEET GIRL as Brad Peyton (RAMPAGE) and and Jeff Fierson of ASAP Entertainment, with Martin Kistler executive producing.

“I’m excited to partner with Netflix once again,” Momoa said. “I’m putting a dream team together from Brad and Jeff to my best friend, Brian, who has been my partner for over 10 years. It’s a dream come true to collaborate with him and deliver his vision.”

“Brad and I are ecstatic about bringing another project to Netflix, who have truly made us feel like we have a home to make groundbreaking original features and series,” said Fierson. “Additionally, Jason and Brian are like family, so to re-team with them on a movie after working for three seasons of ‘Frontier,’ is a dream come true. When we first read this script, we knew there was only one actor who could bring the gravitas and depth to the role of Cooper, and that’s Jason.”

For SEE, Momoa will star in the series which takes place in a future when the human race has lost the sense of sight, and society has had to find new ways to interact, to build, to hunt, to survive. All of that is challenged when a set of twins with sight is born. Starring alongside Momoa for Apple TV+'s sci-fi series are Alfre Woodard, Yadira Guevara-Prip, Nesta Cooper, Sylvia Hoeks, Archie Madekwe, Christian Camargo, and Hera Himar.

It looks as if everything's coming up Milhouse for Jason Momoa! With SEE, SWEET GIRL, and AQUAMAN 2 on the way, there's no telling where the GAME OF THRONES alum will land next. Go get it, my man!
