Jason Segel is awesome, that's a fact. He's incredibly talented, funny as hell, and in general, seems like a pretty cool guy. That's why I'm very happy about his latest project. According to The Wrap, Segel is attached to star as David Foster Wallace in THE END OF THE TOUR. Wallace is the author of 1996's "Infinite Jest," and tragically committed suicide in 2008. Jesse Eisenberg will also appear in the movie as Rolling Stones reporter David Lipsky.

The film will be directed by James Ponsoldt (THE SPECTACULAR NOW, SMASHED) and the script is an adaptation of David Lipsky's book “Although Of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself: A Road Trip With David Foster Wallace." The novel is about the last leg of David Foster Wallace's book tour for "Infinite Jest," when the author was just starting to become famous.

Glad to see Jason Segel working on something that's not a straight up comedy, and he does look a little like the author. I've heard David Lipsky's book is quite good, and I may have to read it before the film comes out.

Production on THE END OF THE TOUR is scheduled to begin in February or March of 2014.
