Yesterday we made everyone who doesn’t live in the Texas area (myself included) supremely jealous with the news Alamo Drafthouse’s Rolling Roadshow would be screening JAWS at the Texas Ski Ranch in a lake, which is almost too awesome for words.

That said, don’t feel left out if you’re yearning to see the Steven Spielberg masterpiece on the big screen for its 40th Anniversary. Fathom Events, in conjunction with Turner Classic Movies, and Universal Pictures, has announced it will be screening JAWS in over 500 theaters on June 21st, with an encore presentation on June 24th. TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz will provide a special introduction for afternoon and evening showings.

JAWS is the best summer movie ever made, so any opportunity to see it again on the big screen as the heatwaves roll in is one that should be capitalized upon. Sure, it’s not like you’ll be floating in a lake while you enjoy the sight of Bruce the shark devouring young Alex Kintner, but how can you say no?
