He may not speak perfect English. He may not have complete control over his temper. He may not have had a hit theatrical movie in 14 years… but, damn it, Jean-Claude Van Damme is back! And he’s taking his career into a slightly different direction with his latest film simply titled JCVD. Hmm, I wonder what that could stand for?
Well, to start off, you definitely should check out The Arrow’s positive review of the flick. Then you can click right here to check out its brand new trailer. You’ll learn right away that JCVD is in no way your typical Van Damme movie (thankfully). As you can probably already guess, The Muscles From Brussels is playing himself a la John Malkovich in BEING JOHN MALKOVICH. Yes, it is a gimmick, but one that I feel will work out (especially after reading The Arrow’s review). It’s also refreshing to see that Van Damme doesn’t mind making fun of himself (at least a little). Check out the flick’s pretty interesting plot:
Between his tax problems and his legal battle with his wife for the custody of his daughter, these are hard times for the action movie star who finds that even Steven Seagal has pinched a role from him! In JCVD, Jean-Claude Van Damme returns to the country of his birth to seek the peace and tranquility he can no longer enjoy in the United States… and winds up unknowingly walking in on a bank robbery!
