Jennifer Lawrence sets a Guiness world record!

JoBloJoBlo

For those of you who enjoy Jennifer Lawrence kicking ass and taking names via the HUNGER GAMES flicks, she has officially set a Guiness world record as the highest-grossing action heroine of all time! The 2015 Guiness Book of World Records (which will be released on September 11) will feature the heroine in all of her glory. THE HUNGER GAMES franchise has raked in over $1.5 billion worldwide which makes this award a given, but it is certainly well-deserved on her part. When you take into account that there are still two HUNGER GAMES movies left, one can imagine that Ms. Lawrence will be holding onto that title for some time now.

It takes a certain actress to instill a sense of believability into an action character (sorry Uma Thurman, I ain’t buyin’ it!) but I’d throw Lawrence up there with the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Carrie-Ann Moss and Linda Hamilton. Doubly so because Ms. Lawrence takes a lot of material and elevates it much higher than it should be. There’s a lot of thick, syrupy drama to wade through in those HUNGER GAMES flicks, so it’s a testament to her acting that I’m willing to keep watching to get to the good stuff. Congratulations Jennifer Lawrence, and keep on kicking ass!

THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY – PART 1 will hit theaters on November 21, 2014.
