Assuming Tom Cruise still steps away from his reign as leading man in the MISSION IMPOSSIBLE franchise, it’s possible that Jeremy Renner will take his place. And you know what? That’s okay with him. As long as they don’t kill him off in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL.

During an interview with EXTRA on the film, Renner said this when asked if he would be okay with taking over the franchise:

”I’d be up for it, and Tom wants me to do it. I’d be happy to be a part of it. But that’s assuming my character doesn’t croak [in this one]. I’m not going to tell you.”

But can he take the lead in this as well as the Jason Bourne franchise? I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
