Jeremy Saulnier’s Green Room adds Patrick Stewart

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

With his heart-stopping, understated thriller BLUE RUIN officially in the books, director Jeremy Saulnier is gearing up for his next project, one that takes him into the GREEN ROOM. On the heels of lasts week’s news that FRIGHT NIGHT stars Imogen Poots and Anton Yelchin would be teaming up once again to fight off some skinheads, comes word from THR that Patrick Stewart is heading down to the GREEN ROOM. And get this, he will play the ruthless leader of the Pacific Northwest-based white supremacist organization. Could this movie be shaping up any better? It's great to see Saulnier jumping straight into another film considering it took him seven long years to make BLUE RUIN after 2007's wonderfully brutal Halloween-set MURDER PARTY.

Here's what we know about GREEN ROOM:

The film centers on a punk band headlined by Yelchin's character who witnesses a murder committed by a group of racist skinheads. They're trapped in the green room by the gang, who tries to kill them. Poots plays a skinhead whose friend is the murder victim and who joins forces with the band.

Rounding out cast of Green Room are Arrested Development's Alia Shawkat, Peaky Blinders' Joe Cole, Callum Turner, Mark Webber, Kai Lennox, Eric Edelstein and Saulnier's BLUE RUIN star Macon Blair.
