Jessica Chastain wants to play a villain in a James Bond movie

Since her 2011 run of movies that put her on the map, Jessica Chastain has played a CIA agent (ZERO DARK THIRTY), a scientist (INTERSTELLAR) and an astronaut (THE MARTIAN), but there's one role the actress would really like to play: the main baddie in a James Bond movie.

During an interview with W Magazine, Chastain said "One of my goals is to play a villain in a Bond film. People ask me if I want to be a Bond girl, and I say, ‘No, I want to be the villain.’ I’m waiting for that call!"

When you think about it, the franchise really hasn't had that many female lead antagonists, and with all the talk as of late about the lack of strong women characters in movies, maybe someday Chastain will get the call she's been waiting for. EON Productions could do a hell of a lot worse than Chastain as the villain, so hopefully they are listening.

Jessica Chastain can be seen next in Guillermo del Toro's CRIMSON PEAK on October 16th, while the latest big screen Bond adventure, SPECTRE, is due in theaters on November 6th.
