Jim Carrey tries drama again with True Crimes, based on a New Yorker article

Looks like Jim Carrey is putting on his "serious" face again with the true crime film aptly titled TRUE CRIME. The film is "based on a New Yorker article about the homicide investigation of a slain business man and the novelist eventually convicted of the murder". In the press release it said the film was a crime thriller, but that synopsis could also be the plot of a fun dark comedy too. Especially with Carrey in the lead.

Honestly, I like Jim Carrey, even if he's had more hits-than-misses lately. I grew up with his comedies (like DUMB AND DUMBER, THE MASK, ACE VENTURA), but I probably prefer his dramatic turns (such as TRUMAN SHOW and ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND) even more. So I'm definitely down for this. The film also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg (MELANCHOLIA, NYMPHOMANIAC: VOL I).

But what do you Schmoes think? You down for more serious Carrey? If so, what's your favorite role of his? Sound off below!
