Here’s one to chalk up to the Rumor Mill, but still… sometimes rumors have streaks of truth in them, and if this pans out to be something more than that, then holy good-golly!

According to /Film, STAR TREK director and producing ninja JJ Abrams may be joining forces with MOTHER and THE HOST director Joon-ho Bong for an undisclosed, super-secret project! No joke! But don’t take my word for it, here it is from the horses mouth:

Our source claims that Abrams visited Korea last year and had extensive meetings with Bong, and will soon be collaborating with him on an undisclosed film. Bong will direct, and Abrams will produce. Once Bong finishes work on his next film Snow Piercer (based on a French graphic novel), the film will most likely shoot in Hollywood, making it the first film he’s made in the US.

Abrams producing Bong directing? First Hollywood project for Bong? Abrams visiting Korea? Sounds too good to be true? Well, it may be, in fact, too good to be true, but their sources claim fact, so only time will tell.

Since Abrams produced CLOVERFIELD and Bong’s THE HOST was along the same lines, maybe there’s another monster movie in their future together? That would be dope. But again, this is just a RUMOR at this point, so take it all with a grain of salt.

CLOVERFIELD’s Odette Yustman’s hotness is extraordinary…
