Rumors like this have been buzzing around STAR WARS: EPISODE VII for a while now but one thing we know for certain is that the new movie will be filmed in London. But when will production on the film start?

In a conference on Saturday, director J.J. Abrams didn't share too much about the upcoming movie but THR is reporting that he did reveal that filming for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII will start in early 2014. The director will move to London in January to begin some pre-production work before filming actually starts for the film.

So now that there's kind of a time frame for STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, what does that mean? Announcing when filming starts (to me anyway) is sort of like Abrams and company saying, "This is when we're going to begin: if you want to be in this movie clear your damn calendars now." If J.J. Abrams wants to start production early next year and be in the U.K. by January, one would think casting for the film should be wrapped up by the end of October at the latest, giving the actors and crew involved plenty of time to prepare for the move and the film.

Which means that this summer will be filled with hundreds of rumors (95% of them turning out to be false) about STAR WARS: EPISODE VII and probably little to no confirmation from Disney until they decide to finally do a big reveal on the new movie. It's going to be very frustrating not knowing more about STAR WARS: EPISODE VII but (fingers crossed) it'll be worth the wait if we get an excellent new STAR WARS film.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII should be released sometime in 2015 but don't be surprised if it's pushed back to 2016.
