Legendary movie host Joe Bob Briggs made his triumphant return on the Shudder streaming service a couple years ago, and last year he made our Halloween season better with his HALLOWEEN HOOTENANNY special, where he presented a triple feature of films from the HALLOWEEN franchise. Joe Bob will be brightening our October this year, too. Shudder has confirmed that a new Joe Bob special, called JOE BOB'S HALLOWEEN HIDEAWAY, will be available to watch just in time for Halloween.
In the U.S. and Canada, JOE BOB'S HALLOWEEN HIDEAWAY will premiere live on the ShudderTV feed Friday, October 23. The special will be made available to watch on demand as of Monday, October 26.
The titles of the films Joe Bob will be showing from his hideaway have not been revealed, but the special has the following synopsis:
Horror host and drive-in movie expert Joe Bob has left the trailer park behind in favor of a more remote retreat, but he’s still ready to serve up a double feature of films hand-picked for your Halloween enjoyment.
Promotional art for the special can be seen below, and I'm going to try not to read too much into the fact that the spooky cabin featured in the artwork resembles the cabin from THE EVIL DEAD and EVIL DEAD 2. Whether or not those are the movies Joe Bob will be showing, I'm going to be watching and enjoying this special. Watching Joe Bob is always a good time.
