The last we heard of the Vacation reboot John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein were scripting. Now it seems that the HORRIBLE BOSSES pair will be directing as well.
At first, it was thought that Vacation would be a remake, thankfully it is not. Instead it is a reboot of sorts with Clark and Ellen’s son, Rusty, who will now be going on his own misadventures with his family. Initially I was a little skeptical of a solo Rusty movie then after sitting on it for awhile, I don’t mind it so much. Actually, as long as it’s not a remake, who cares.
David Dobkin (WEDDING CRASHERS) was originally going to direct the project but moved on. This will be the directorial debut of Daley and Goldstein. The two recently wrote BURT WONDERSTONE starring Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell, and are also working on a sequel to HORRIBLE BOSSES.
Who would you guys get to play Russ? Maybe go a little further and try to cast his wife.
