John Krasinski is back in action as Jack Ryan in first teaser for season two

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Taking the mantle after actors like Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine, John Krasinski became our new Jack Ryan for Amazon’s new action-drama series, which kicked off its first season last year. People dug what Krasinski brought to the table as the action hero, and now those same people can get pumped for the character’s return with the first teaser for season two of TOM CLANCY'S JACK RYAN. You may not get any plot details from the characters’ mouths, but the footage makes it clear all you need to know is there will be gunfights, airplane jumps, rooftop chases, and scenes where Krasinski’s Ryan looks like he really regrets joining the CIA.

Relying almost entirely on this visual storytelling with plenty of action teases, the only words spoken in the trailer are Wendell Pierce’s James Greer saying, “Good to see you again, Jack,” with Krasinski’s Ryan replies back with a cool, “Yeah, you too.” Beyond that, the trailer teases the tense, action-packed story, which finds him tracking a shipment of illegal weapons to Venezuela, which when there, finds Ryan uncovering a massive conspiracy where he himself may be a target. So much for hoping he would just get to do something relaxing this time around, like catching up on some FLEABAG or something.

Viewers may also catch quick glimpses at series newcomers Noomi Rapace (GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATOO) and Michael Kelly (HOUSE OF CARDS), Specific details on their characters have not been revealed, but such is the case for many details regarding this second season. The same goes for the release date, with the trailer and the poster using "Coming soon" in its place. Season one debuted on August 31, 2018, so perhaps season two will premiere around the same time.

TOM CLANCY'S JACK RYAN hits Amazon Prime sometime this year.
