The last update we got on John Landis’ horror/comedy BURKE AND HARE came way back in May. May! That’s a long ass time to wait for an update for a flick, isn’t it? It is. Well the wait ends here today!
Apparently the folks over at USA Today were tired of waiting for an update as well so they went out and got themselves a sit-down with Mr. Landis. Along with the brief interview they also scored themselves a brand new still from the flick! The still, much like the last promo poster we saw, showcases Simon Pegg’s ‘Burke’ and Andy Serkis’ ‘Hare’ as they try and hide a body. Go ahead and scope that shite out below!
Unfortunately when asked whether or not BURKE AND HARE would be classified as a horror flick, Landis responded:
“…not a horror film…. It has horror things within it — it’s about dissection and grave robbing, after all — but it’s a very black romantic comedy, hopefully in the tradition of the old Ealing Studios’ Kind Hearts and Coronets and The Ladykillers.”
Bummer. But hey, the flick still stars Pegg and Serkis with Landis behind the director’s chair, so you can’t really go wrong. Plus… Isla Fisher (below)! Yeah, I’m completely sold to.
