John Saul’s cautionary tale THE GOD PROJECT, which was first published in 1983, is getting the big screen treatment by production companies Lucid Dreams and Julijette Inc.

Deborah Wakeham and Juliette Hagopian will produce from a screenplay by Wakeham. A director will be announced shortly, as the producers are planning a spring shoot in Canada.
“John Saul was ahead of his time when he wrote about the dangers of cloning in the 1980s,” Wakeham said. “We hope to show the awesome power and potentially dire consequences of what happens when the power to create human life falls into the wrong hands.”
