Earlier this year, Angelina Jolie stepped in to replace Tom Cruise in headlining the Phillip Noyce directed and Kurt Wimmer scripted thriller EDWIN A. SALT but a little while after that announcement, it seemed she was having second thoughts at the prospect of perhaps portraying a character named Edwina. Now it seems any doubts she may have had have abated as Moviehole is reporting that she’s already signed on to portray the titular CIA agent on the run after being accused of being a Russian double agent. And, as expected, the film’s title has been changed to simply SALT, essentially eradicating any “Ediwna” concerns (which is what may have helped her to officially sign on).
