It was just last week that I was telling you guys how Seth Rogen was planning on co-directing the long-awaited horror/comedy JAY AND SETH VS. THE APOCALYPSE with his long time writing partner Evan Goldberg and now here I am with some casting news! Damn that was quick.
Not only do I have a couple casting announcements for you guys regarding the flick but apparently there’s also a title change. I suppose that’s understandable considering Rogen previously said the flick was now going to be a group project rather than himself and Jay Baruchel battling the end of the world. So what’s the new title?
THE APOCALYPSE. Easy enough right? And according to the Winnipeg Free Press the two names joining Rogen and Baruchel in the project are fellow Judd Apatow regulars Jonah Hill and James Franco! No reason to be upset with that, now is there? Except maybe for the fact that Jonah Hill is skinny now… let’s hope he didn’t lose his comedic edge with all that weight.
The Winnipeg Free Press had a chance to chat with Rogen at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival and asked the actor for a little more detail regarding THE APOCALYPSE. Check it:
“It’s a movie about a bunch of friends who are stuck in a house together as the apocalypse happens outside and they kind of barricade themselves in. They think they’ve kind of survived the worst and then they realize they all really can’t stand to be around each other as they’re stuck in this house together. It’s all our friends, luckily, and we all play ourselves in the movie. … I literally play Seth Rogen in the movie and Jay Baruchel literally plays himself in the movie and others — Jonah Hill, James Franco — they’re literally playing themselves in the movie. It’s a very strange movie, but it’s gonna happen.”
So there you have it folks! Sounds like one hell of a a time to me! I’m there! What says you guys? You sold on this shite yet or do you need to see more? Worry not because we’ll be bringing you every piece of APOCALYPSE news that rolls our way so check back soon as we get closer to the film’s February start date.
