Less than 24 hours ago Jake did us all a solid by telling the world that the gorgeous Katee Sackhoff was in talks to join Vin Diesel in David Twohy’s RIDDICK, which is finally starting to get some major steam behind it. Now here I am with even more potential casting news!
According to Variety none other than Jordi Molla is in talks to join the film as Santana, a mercenary who heads up an eight-man crew tasked with finding and killing Riddick. A role like this would be right down Molla’s (right) alley considering the actor is no stranger to playing the bad guy, having starred as the villain in films like BLOW, BAD BOYS II, COLOMBIANA and KNIGHT AND DAY, among others I’m sure. Sounds like he’d be perfect for the role!
Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Vin Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.
Karl Urban has already been confirmed for RIDDICK as has Mr. Diesel. Unfortunately Sackhoff (below) and Molla are only in talks right now but my guess is they’ll be signing any day. RIDDICK has a roaming 2013 release date already tapped but we should be getting more news on this one a lot sooner then that.
