Sources say Joseph Kosinski confirmed to direct Tron 3

Just yesterday, sources revealed that TRON 3 would begin production in Vancouver later this year. While not quite official confirmation from Disney, it was good enough for fans to get excited for the further adventures of the franchise. Now, sources are confirming that not only is TRON 3 in development but they go on to say that TRON: LEGACY director Joseph Kosinski will return.

The Wrap did not go as far as to confirm that filming will begin in October of this year, but it seems like the pieces are all falling into place for an official announcement to come soon.

While TRON focused on Jeff Bridges character, TRON: LEGACY centered on his son as played by Garrett Hedlund, who is expected to reprise his role as Sam. The new film will likely pick up where the last film left off, with Sam and Quorra in the real world. The cameo by Cillian Murphy as Edward Dillinger, Jr, son of the character played by David Warner in the original, has been teased by Joseph Kosinski as being a potential plot point in TRON 3.

TRON 3 has no official release date yet, but expect to see it in 2016.
