Director Darren Aronofsky‘s NOAH is set to float into theaters later this month and today you can take an up close peek at the building of the Ark in a new featurette for the film. The filmmakers take you inside the process of creating the massive floating vessel, which was recreated with the exact specifications as outlined in its biblical roots. Featuring interviews with the filmmakers and cast, the featurette highlights the epic scope of what went into recreating this legendary boat, down to the finest detail, and certainly teases the awe one would feel if they were on the actual set. Old-school, big-budget filmmaking at its best.

Take a look:

The prospect of a new Darren Aronofsky film only weeks away is a pretty cool thing. While the thematic elements may put off some viewers, I’m more interested in what the filmmakers and cast will deliver, as it’s a hell of a round up. If the recently released SON OF GOD can make a healthy debut just being pieced together from an existing mini-series, then I’m thinking an all-new biblical tale with top notch talent involved will have success at the box office. The final numbers will tell for sure, but either way I’m looking forward to boarding this Ark.

NOAH hits theaters on March 28, 2014.
