Not sure about you, but I’m glad to see Juliette Lewis actively return to the big-screen. I know she’s a capable rocker chick as well, but damn, can you think of a more varied and accomplished actress in the 90s? Jodie Foster maybe?

Well, one flick Ms. Lewis is set to star in next year is called BLOOD OR WATER, a noirish UK thriller from actor-cum-director Justin Molotnikov. The film, currently in pre-production, comes from LevelK ApS, and will also star Stephen McCole, and possibly Greta Scacchi, Gary Lewis and Kate Dickie. Let’s see what this sucker has to offer, ay?!?

After being hassled by a man high on drugs on his return home, lawyer Jake Lever could never have predicted that a decapitated arm discovered the next day would belong to this man, who would also turn out to be the half-brother he never knew. Desperate for answers and to prove his innocence, Jake uncovers a family-tied world of secrets and lies, and a killer intent on wiping them out.

Sounds like an odd little tale, which is always welcome. The first time feature director could be alarming, but at least Molotnikov has spent time on the other side of the camera. At very least, he should be able to draw decent performances. As per usual, I expect nothing less from Lewis.

Stay up as we collect more on BLOOD OR WATER.

Hot Tamale!
