While it’s a sequel I don’t think anyone was actually asking for, I can’t help but be morbidly curious about the upcoming JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE film. It’s got an impressive cast, a big-budget, and seems to at least be expanding the lore and doing something a little different (the main characters are kids who are transplanted into the game’s world and have to survive the jungle, rather than the jungle coming to them like in the first film). So there’s at least some thought beyond “the same, but bigger” mentality.
Now comes the first actual footage of the film. Let’s take a look:
Since it’s just a tease, we don’t see much. But it does look action-packed and fun, which is a start. Although I’m wondering why the hunter from the first film was so low-tech when there seem to be fucking motorcycles in the game.
Meanwhile, JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE will have fun and games in theaters December 20th, 2017.
