Jurassic Park characters will have a lot more than just a cameo in Dominion

The third installment of the JURASSIC WORLD trilogy will once again find Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) returning to a world filled with dinosaurs, but they'll be bringing a few iconic characters from Steven Spielberg's JURASSIC PARK along for the ride as well. JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION will also feature the return of Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm, Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant, and Laura Dern as Dr. Ellie Sattler.

Of course, those who have seen JURASSIC WORLD: FALLEN KINGDOM know that Jeff Goldblum did put in an appearance as Dr. Malcolm in that film, but that it amounted to nothing more than a glorified cameo. That came as a disappointment to most fans, but it seems that the original JURASSIC PARK trio will have a much bigger role to play in JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION. While speaking with Yahoo Movies UK recently, Sam Neill stated that Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and himself will be seen throughout the upcoming film. "We’re all the way through the film, Jeff [Goldblum], and me, and Laura [Dern]" Neill said, but admits that he "probably won’t be running quite as fast as I was 27 years ago!" Welcome news, indeed.

Production on JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION was halted back in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the crew is preparing to resume work at Pinewood Studios next week. Sam Neill added that several of the film's stars are in quarantine ahead of the production restart, and that the entire cast will remain in quarantine together while the production is underway. "We’re all going to be living in the same joint for three or four months, so that’s going to be fun," Neill said. "And everybody loves Chris and Bryce as well, so I think we’ll be a very happy bunch." Big Brother: Jurassic World edition? Although we did catch up with Jeff Goldblum's character in FALLEN KINGDOM, we haven't seen Sam Neill and Laura Dern play these roles since JURASSIC PARK III, nearly twenty years ago. JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION is slated to hit theaters on June 11, 2021.
