Jurassic Park is the new Fyre Fest in hilarious mashup video

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

There is not one, but two documentaries about the disastrous, infamous, undeniably hilarious Fyre Festival fiasco making the rounds on Hulu and Netflix, with everyone once again talking about this incredible f**k up. Things went horribly wrong on that island, but it’s not the first time a disaster on an island made its way into pop culture, and now the events that happened on Isla Nublar in JURASSIC PARK have meshed with the chaos of the Fyre Festival in the parody video that was meant to be.

When you watch the video it becomes clear how well the two events parallel each other. There’s Richard Attenborough’s John Hammond playing the rich dude to Fyre’s Billy McFarland; they both brought people over with the lure of a once-in-a-lifetime experience; both went over-the-top with expenses and; clearly, neither knew what the hell they were doing. The result is a trailer for a faux documentary from Nerdist that puts together footage of Hammond and dinosaurs going crazy together with footage from the Fyre documentary (the Netflix version), and if you haven’t seen either docs or JURASSIC PARK, you’d probably think this actually happened.  There’s even a character named Grant in both PARK and the Fyre fest documentaries, signifying this was meant to be.

If you haven't seen the Fyre doc(s), here's the trailer for the Netflix one for reference.
