Jurassic World: Dominion shoot shut down for two weeks – new Covid 19 cases

Jurassic World: Dominion, Colin Trevorrow, COVID-19

Director Colin Trevorrow has just announced via Twitter that JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION will be forced to halt production after a few positive COVID test results turned up. The delay will last for two weeks while the matter is sorted. Thankfully, the film has recently been moved to June 10, 2022, allowing Trevorrow and his team ample time to complete the film.

Per a Universal spokesman: “Late last night, we were informed that the Jurassic World: Dominion production experienced a small amount of positive tests for COVID-19. Even though subsequent tests proved negative this morning, due to our rigid protocols and to ensure that the safety and well-being of our entire cast and crew is paramount at all times, those who initially tested positive are currently self-isolating, as are those who they have come into contact with. As a result, filming has been temporarily paused and will resume in accordance with established safety guidelines.”

If it hasn't been made clear already, Universal isn't taking any chances when it comes to the safety of their cast and crew. While it sucks to have production on the film halted yet again, it's really for the best. Despite what some would have you believe, the coronavirus still poses a very real threat to those infected with the virus as well as individuals within their immediate proximity. No schedule is worth putting human lives at risk, and so it goes that JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION will shut down until the coast is clear.
