Now that the good guys have been cast in TRANSFORMERS 4, it is about time we started hearing who would be playing the bad guys. Deadlin is reporting that the lead villain in the Michael Bay action sequel will be played by Kelsey Grammer.

Despite having a very distinct voice (ahem, Sideshow Bob) that would make for an excellent Decepticon, Grammer will be playing the human role of Harold Attinger. There are no further details at this point aside from the fact that the character will be some sort of counter intelligence agent. This may keep in line with the redacted plot synopsis that had the technology that powers the robot aliens falling into the wrong hands with chaos ensuing.

Grammer’s only other major franchise appearance was playing Beast in X-MEN: THE LAST STAND. Since then he has played against his Frasier Crane character as the Mayor of Chicago on the short-lived Starz series BOSS. Grammer was phenomenal as the despicable mayor on that show and would make a phenomenal bad guy. For me, this is a definite plus for TRANSFORMERS 4.

Grammer will join the cast that features Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Jack Reynor, and Nicola Peltz. TRANSFORMERS 4 will hit theaters on June 27, 2014.
