Kevin Smith is sticking with the horror genre after his mad scientist romp TUSK, and he’s sticking with much of that film’s cast as well. It has been announced that Justin Long, Michael Parks, Haley Joel Osment and Genesis Rodriguez in his holiday horror flick ANTI-CLAUS, which for a while was being referred to as COMES THE KRAMPUS. Take a look at a rough rendering of the character that is being used for the film below.

Anti-Claus tells the tale of the centuries-old, devil-like creature known the world-over as the Krampus – the “Anti-Claus” of Alpine country folklore, infamous for eating naughty children during the season of giving.

Said Smith about the project:

When I was a kid, if they wanted to make a Christmas horror movie, they’d stick an axe in Santa’s hands… In Anti-Claus, we leave Santa alone and creep with the Krampus through twisted tales of holly-jolly murder, desire, desperation and despair. Just in time for the holiday season.”

Jordan Monsanto, Andy McElfresh and Jennifer Schwalbach are producing Anti-Claus for Smith’s SModcast Pictures, while “Jay” himself Jason Mewes will executive produce.

XYZ Films will launch the project to foreign buyers at the upcoming Cannes film market. Principal photography begins in September.
