Though not something I’d immediately deem AITH material, seeing how my wiser, much longer tenured colleagues have thrown the Nic Cage action comedy KICK-ASS some love, I thought…what the hell, why not mix a drink and joint the bash?!? After all, ‘tis the holidays.
As such, we’ve got a nice little Christmas Eve-Eve-Eve-Eve gift in the form of a red band trailer for Matthew Vaughn’s comic-book send up with teeth (find it below).
Adapted from a Mark Millar comic book by Jane Goldman (STARDUST, also directed by Vaughn), KICK-ASS centers on Dave Lizewski, an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan with a few friends and who lives alone with his father. His life is not very difficult and his personal trials not that overwhelming. However, one day he makes the simple decision to become a super-hero even though he has no powers or training.
As you can imagine, said plotline serves as a springboard for all kinds of comedic mayhem to ensue.
Alongside Cage (and his disappointingly tame hairpiece) is Mark Strong, Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Lyndsy Fonseca, Zander Berkeley, Tamer Hassan, Clark Duke, Evan Peters, Omari Hardwick, Michael Rispoli, Ashleigh Hubbard and Adrian Martinez.
KICK-ASS looks to live up to its name April 16, 2010.
