The horror anthology film V/H/S spawned the spin-off Siren, and now it looks like V/H/S/2 is also getting a spin-off, as Deadline reports that Hobo with a Shotgun director Jason Eisener has just wrapped production on a sci-fi horror film called Kids vs. Aliens, which sounds very much like the segment he contributed to V/H/S/2.

Written by Eisener and his Hobo with a Shotgun collaborator John Davies, Kids vs. Aliens centers on

Gary and his older sister Samantha as an all-time rager of a teen house party turns to terror when aliens attack, forcing the two warring siblings to band together to survive the night.

The film stars Dominic Mariche (Are You Afraid of the Dark?), Calem MacDonald (The Umbrella Academy), and newcomers Phoebe Rex, Asher Grayson, Ben Tector, Emma Vickers, and Isaiah Fortune.

Kids vs. Aliens is produced by Cinepocalypse Productions’ Josh Goldbloom, Bloody Disgusting’s Brad Miska, Shut Up & Colour Pictures’ Marc Tetreault and Jason Levangie, and Yer Dead Productions’ Rob Cotterill. Tom Owen and Studio71’s Mark Ward, Adam Boorstin, and Michael Schreiber serve as executive producers.

Eisener had this to say about the project:

Bringing alien terrors to life is a literal dream come true. Kids vs. Aliens is inspired by my childhood nightmares and obsessions. Hopefully my parents will forgive me for using their house as our main location.”

Eisener has contributed to the anthologies V/H/S/2 and The ABCs of Death, and has directed thirty episodes of the documentary series Dark Side of the Ring, but Kids vs. Aliens marks his first feature film since Hobo with a Shotgun was released ten years ago. It’s good to see him back in the feature world, and I’ve always felt like the set-up of his V/H/S/2 segment could have easily sustained a feature (minus the element of the camera being strapped to a dog).
