The boys over at Dread Central are currently rocking the AFM (as is The Arrow), and came upon some interesting- and exciting- news regarding one of the better stories to come out of Clive Barker’s BOOKS OF BLOOD.
According to DC, Ryuhel Kitamura, the director of VERSUS, has been tapped to direct THE MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, which was just fast tracked into pre-production! Nice! I freakin’ love that story, and I’m glad it’s finally getting made, as it seems like it’s been in development hell for the longest time.
Barker is behind this project 100%, and was quoted saying: I want to make sure that when we do it, we do it justice. That really means doing it as a hard R, none of this PG-13. In Clive We Trust! If you’ve ever read the story (and if you haven’t, this is your chance before it hits the big screen), you’d know that it’d pretty much be impossible to tame it down for PG-13, as it’s one dark and bloody mess. I freakin’ can’t wait to check this mother out!
